Good Evening CCA Families,     September 7, 2020
This week we have the following.
We continue with five days of school this week.  All in person learners are to attend school all five days. All CCA at home learners are also to attend all five days virtually. Keep your cameras on while in your classes.  Teachers are calling on students and they are not responding.  This is not allowed.  Students are to engage and participate in their classes. Make sure you go to Class Links and then CANVAS to receive your invitation to your class Zoom sessions.  Tomorrow is a B day.

Just a reminder that if a student is ill they should remain at home.  Students who are in person learners are to attend school as long as they are not ill.  We seem to be having a problem with in person learners just deciding to e-mail their teachers and say they are just going be a virtual learner today.  This is not allowed.  If a parent or guardian lets our registrar, champion_vena@hcde.org know between 8:30 and 9:00 we will honor the request and assume that the in person learner is ill yet well enough to work online. 

Beginning tomorrow, September 8, 2020 all students will eat breakfast and lunch free of charge.  Anyone at home interested in taking home meals on Wednesday, 9/9 should e-mail our cafeteria manager Tammi Bearden at bearden_tammi@hcde.org.  Pick up times for the meals is between the hours of 9-10.  In person, students may take meals home for the weekend on Friday.  Please e-mail Ms. Bearden if this is something you would like your in person students to have for the weekend.

Yearbook pictures will be made on Thursday, 9/10.  Please have your students dress appropriately.  Order forms were sent home with students last week.  Payment should be made to Life Touch. Your student does not have to order pictures, yet all will have them made.  At home, learners will not be counted absent from their class to have their picture taken. We ask that you come between the hours of 9-12.  You may fill out an order form when you arrive if you want to order pictures. We will try to set up pictures on the porch for at home learners.

While you are at school, please pick up a copy of the Student Code of Acceptable Behavior and Discipline.  They will be on a table close to where you picture is made.  Please review the code and sign page 5.  This should be returned to Ms. Kerr, our secretary, @ kerr_d@hcde.org  by Monday, September 14, 2020.

All in person learners will receive their copy on Thursday as well.  They should return their signed page 5 on Monday, 9/14 to their 1A teacher.

Thanks to everyone who has paid their science and technology $20 fee and have paid their art class fees. We are hoping that everyone will take care of this by October 1. I would like to thank those of you who have donated to our school needs by adding an extra donation to your $20 fee.  This is a time when our school needs technology more than ever and I am grateful for your generosity. In addition, we appreciate the support needed to continue our magnet programs at CCA.
