8/02/20 Message from the PrincipalGood Evening CCA Families,     August 2, 2020
This week is the last full week off for summer break for our students.  Enjoy your time together and get ready for an exciting year for learning and growing as academic achievers and as talented artists.
Give close attention to the many important events that are just around the corner. Make sure you look at the e-mail that will accompany my message.
1. The A and B groups that will be used for August 12-14 are arranged by last names.  If you have a special request due to sibling placement in other schools or different last names, please let us know if you need them to be in the same group.  Last names A-L  are group A  and M-Z are group B.   Our in person student body are divided into two groups that will operate when we are in PHASE 2 of the continuous learning plan. On 8/12 group A will attend school and 8/13, group B will attend school when one group is at school the other group logs in at home to attend their classes.  On Friday, 8/14 both groups will be at home for virtual classes.  If we are in phase 3 or 4 all who have chosen in person learning will attend school.
2. Registration at CCA is this Friday, August 7 throughout the day .A schedule is outlined in my attached e-mail.  It is drive-by to pay school fees, pick up chrome books if you do not have one, and to pick up forms associated with our magnet school policies and other district related policies. 6th- 9-10, 7th- 10-11, 8th- 11-12, 9th- 12-1, 10th- 1-2, 11th- 2-3, and 12th 3-4.
3. School fees are as follows: $20 science and technology fee.  $25. Parking fee ($35 if you are reserving and painting your spot) All arts classes have fees attached to them.  A complete list of those fees are located on our website.  Fees are more important than ever since students may not share so many of our supplies.  We are asking all families to pay your fees.  Whether at home or in person.  Our art staff still need to purchase music, art supplies, technology equipment to teach virtually, and a host of other items to ensure our magnet focus is out in front.  Our school fee went away last year and that was $75.  I am hoping that you will be willing to donate more than $20 fee to cover that need for advanced technology by our staff.  Thanks for considering.  YOU MAY ALSO JOIN PAPA OUR PARENT ORGANIZATION FOR $5!
4. NO STUDENT MAY BE DROPPED OFF OR GET OUT OF THEIR CARS TO ENTER THE BUILDING UNTIL 8:30.  THIS IS A NON-NEGOTIABE. The 8:30 arrival is DUE TO THE NEED FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING AND TO ELIMINATE GATHERINGS OF STUDENTS. IN ADDITION, DROP OFF IS ONLY ON THE SECOND LEVEL.  YOU MAY NOT PARK ON THE TOP LEVEL.  No visiting or walking your student into the building.  Only essential workers are allowed inside and students attending school.  We have been so careful this summer by limiting those who entered the building. This is also a district guideline. Students will go directly to their classroom when they arrive in the morning.
5. NO WRITING OF ANY KIND IS ALLWED ON MASKS.  THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS OUR LOGO OR JUST CCA.  THIS IS A PART OF THE DRESS CODE.  NO BANDANAS AS MASKS AS WELL.
6. All students should have a pair of earbuds that will plug into their chrome book and work properly.
7. ORIENTATION FOR NEW STUDENTS WILL BE ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2020 AT 5:30 PM.  YOU WILL RECEIVE A ZOOM INVITATION.
8. Senior lunch will not happen at this time. We will revisited it at the semester, once we hope things will get back to normal.  Please understand that also means no visiting at lunch for any reason as well.
Thanks for your support, Mrs. Smith
