3/29/20 Message from the Principal

Good Evening CCA Families,      March 29, 2020
Let me start by saying how much I miss seeing our students and our families.  This alone has been a stressor since it automatically makes me feel like something is wrong with one of them or the family.  It is the things we take for granted that have really resonated with me.

Well, one thing I can tell you is our staff continues to work hard to keep the learning alive.  The challenges of no face-to-face learning has definitely had an impact on everyone.  I hope all of you have been amazed with some of the very creative learning opportunities that have been presented by the talented CCA teachers.
We are adjusting to this new normal and hope that as you juggle your day to day life at home with your students you are finding some time to relax as a family.

Please allow me to clarify one announcement that should NOT have gone out to students.  Juries are still a part of our arts curriculum; however, they too will not happen following the normal format.  Building block skills that have been in progress since August are alive and have continue to grow with every activity assigned by an art or an academic teacher.  The assignments made by arts teachers are aligned with art standards.  Jury preparation is also aligned with art standards.  Only the jury performance piece is on hold. Please keep up the great work that we are seeing and continue to keep your focus on learning and on staying healthy.

I also wanted to let everyone know that ZOOM meetings must be held during the time that your class meets for a reason.  With as many classes that we have, and as many virtual conferences that we have throughout the week, we could not just have Zoom classes at any time.  In addition, they are not required.  We had many conflicts the first week we were out because there was not a schedule in place.  Hope this helps!

As we move into week three of school just a few things to remember:
Your family comes first before anything else. You and your family are the important things now and every day.  Remember that always!
1. This coming week you have four days of classes. M- Arts, PE, and Foreign Language will post assignments.  Tuesday will be for a Math and ELA assignment. Wednesday will be for Science and Social Studies.  Only one assignment from each class. THURSDAY WILL BE A CATCH-UP DAY FOR ANY ASSIGNMENTS YOU NEED TO TURN IN, WANT TO REDO, OR MISSED ALONG THE WAY FOR ANY CLASS. We are being very flexible about the schedule and grades
2. Next Friday is a holiday and then Spring Break.
3. There will be no new assignments posted or due over SPRING BREAK!
Peace to All,
Mrs. Smith
