11/8/20 Message from the Principal

Good Evening CCA Families,                                                         November 8, 2020

This week we have the following.

On Tuesday, 11/10 the PAPA Board will meet at 6:30 in a ZOOM session. Contact Melissa Loyd if you are on the board and need the link.

PAPA is hosting a Spirit Day for CCA at Pizza Bros. on Cherokee Blvd. on Tuesday, November 17. The restaurant is donating 10% of the sales on that day to our school.  The offer is good on dine in or pick up only. (Not delivery)  Please consider picking up a pizza for your family and support our school. Thanks to Kelly DeJong for organizing this event.

PAPA is also recognizing all honor and star honor roll students next Friday during lunch for their achievements during first quarter.  Online learners will have a treat mailed to them if they were on the honor or star honor roll for first quarter.

On Wednesday, 11/11 ALL STUDENTS will be virtual learners. No students come to school. Assignments will be posted on Canvas for everyone to complete.  E-mail any questions about the assignment/s to the teacher.  Teachers will only be available by e-mail.

Student-Led Conferences will be held virtually on Thursday, November 12 from 4:30-8. Your student will conduct the conference at your home. In my call out e-mail you find all of the details, surrounding what will happen at the conference.

Friday, November 13, we will have officer elections.  All students who filled out an application to serve as a class officer should be prepared to give their speeches on Friday during homeroom.  All online candidates will also give their speech on Friday.  A ZOOM invitation will be posted on the Canvas home page of the lead grade level sponsor.  All at home learners will join the class meeting to hear the candidate’s speeches and then they will e-mail their votes to the sponsor. Candidates may hang campaign posters this week only in the commons and on the cork strips and bulletin boards in the halls.  No hanging posters on painted surfaces or on the windows of the doors leading to each hallway. Online learners should have their posters or signs available while they are in classes throughout the week.

Parents, please log onto the parent portal in Power School to choose your preferred choice for your students learning platform next semester. (Online or In-person) If you do not choose, your student will automatically be listed as an in-person learner for the second semester. Deadline to complete this task is November 20.

Finally, always have a plan in place should the district change what phase we are in based on many factors surrounding the virus.

Please check your e-mail for specific instructions regarding student- led conferences. They will be sent in a separate e-mail.

Stay safe and healthy!

Thanks for your support,

Mrs. Smith
