11/10/19 Message from the PrincipalGood Evening CCA Families,

This week we have the following:

On Wednesday, November13, students have a 1/2 day of school.  Drivers, car riders, and walkers will be dismissed at 12. All other students who ride busses will be dismissed as close to 12 as possible.

Magnet schools are last on the pickup schedule. Busses will run on Wednesday. All classes will meet on Wednesday for an abbreviated time.

Do not forget to order your PAPA gear. Shirts with student’s majors are one of the newest offerings. The gear orders are due by Tuesday, November 12. Letter jackets and a host of other items are available online.  Check out the website and the CCA Face Book page for all the details. Seat plates for the auditorium chairs can be ordered through November 22.

Our Middle School students will begin their annual Poinsettia sale on Thursday, November 15.  The plants are $8.50 each.  They all have 4 to 5 blooms and come in Red, White, or Pink.  Ask your friends, relatives, and your places of worship to buy from us. They will last throughout the holiday season into January.

The Winds and Percussion concert will be held on Thursday, November 15.  Tickets are $5 at the door.

On November 19 at 6PM and in partnership with the Creative Discovery Museum, CCA will have a family night at CCA. The evening will be using lessons from other museums across the country in conjunction with Oak Ridge National Laboratories. The focus of the lessons will include: How students can participate in creating sustainable solutions for the future regarding the innovation of fuels and products incorporating genetics, highly productive/efficient Bioenergy sources and the careers needed to work in this field. It proves to be an exciting evening for families to join us for this event.

Please help us out by reminding your students that they do not need cell phones during the day. Everyone has a chrome book and access to school topics on their device.  Phones ARE NOT ALLOWED in any study hall, including the LIBRARY. Phones are a big distraction from what students come to school for, to learn.

The NHS is having a can food drive and a coat drive beginning tomorrow.  Please send in your donations the donation boxes are located in the library and the commons.

Thanks for your support,

Mrs. Smith
