10/4/20 Message from the PrincipalGood Evening CCA Families,                                                October 4, 2020
This week we have four days of school since Fall Break starts on Friday, October 9. Our schedule will be the following. M-A day, T- B day, W- A day and TH- B-day. We will not have A/B day this week.  School will reopen on Tuesday, October 20 for all  in person students.
All students enrolled in an AP class are eligible to take an Advanced Placement test this spring. (May) The advantage to taking an AP test may provide a college credit (Depending on the score) to the student as well as count as a HS credit. This is a great way to save on college tuition. Payment should be made online or by check to CCA and given to their AP teacher before Fall Break (Thursday, Oct. 8).  The online option is available through Friday, October 9. The cost for each test is $143 for AP Seminar and $95 for the other tests.  Students who receive Free or Reduced Lunch pay $33 for each test, including Seminar.
All parents of car riders received an email with instructions for using the new app to help with dismissal. We will begin using the app on Monday, October 5, after school. Please wait until you enter the second level of the parking lot in the parallel lines to check in on the app. This is important so that students are dismissed in the correct order and not all at once. If you need help setting up your account please contact Diane Winne on Monday. If you are unable to use the app just give your student’s name to the teacher on duty in the car rider line, and we will dismiss them. This may lead to you having to park to wait for your student.
On Tuesday, October 6 our 6th grade academic team of teachers will host a special “Open House “at 6PM using the ZOOM platform for all families. Please make sure that you look for an e-mail from the team that includes the link to the meeting.
Tuesday, October 6 at 6:30 is the PAPA Board meeting.  Please refer to the e-mail sent by our president, Melissa Loyd for the ZOOM link.
Make sure you are lining up your family customers to purchase Belk Charity sale tickets for $5.  We are participating in the November sale.  More information coming after fall break.
Teachers have worked hard to make sure students have had every opportunity to turn in missing work.  We hope this has helped all students to get back on track after starting this year in a very different manor.  Please keep in mind that new material will continue to be the focus of our classes. Students staying on track with their work is imperative.  Our no late work policy is just around the corner so do not allow your students to fall behind.  Thanks for your support of our teachers as they manage to keep up with the work that has piled up as a result of this past week of grace.
Officer petitions for this year’s class officers are due on Wednesday, October 21 by 4PM in the main office.
Thanks for your support!
Mrs. Smith
