3/8/20 Message from the PrincipalGood Evening CCA Families,
I hope you are enjoying Daylight Savings Time.  Make sure your clocks and alarms are on the right time.
A big congratulations to the entire cast, tech, crew, parents, and to Mr. Murphy for an award-winning performance of Frozen Jr this past weekend.
This week we have the following.
Tomorrow is a B-Day as we continue with Benchmark assessments.  These assessments are sponsored by our district and are in place to check progress as we move towards the state assessments in April.
Tomorrow evening at 6PM all CURRENT 10 and 11th grade parents and students will attend a required transition meeting in the auditorium.  One parent volunteer hour will be awarded to each family.  Dual enrollment and Dual credit classes will be discussed. A survey that deals with elective classes will be given to each student to fill out as we are now forming the master schedule for next school year.  We are seeking input as we review current elective class offerings. Also, reading /supply lists and other information will be given out to families. On a separate note, not all grade levels have a transition meeting.
On Tuesday, 3/10 morning all new accepted students and parents are invited to a school tour beginning at 9:30. A big welcome party is scheduled for early May when registering for classes will be a part of the program.
On Tuesday, 3/10 the beginning acting showcase will take place at 7PM in the Black Box Theater. Admission is free.
On Thursday, 3/12 is the Band Concert at 7PM in the auditorium.  Tickets are $5 at the door.
On Thursday,3/12 we have seminar and on Friday, 3/13 we have Finale.
Also, on 3/12 communication majors will travel to MTSU for a special event.
NJHS will visit Elementary Schools on Friday, 3/13 in honor of Dr. Seuss Days. Get your permission slips into Mrs. Donen by Thursday, 3/12.
If you received a letter regarding your hours and there is a discrepancy with you records contact Diane Winne, our parent volunteer coordinator. Winne_diane@hcde.org
NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY, 3/16 for students.
Next Tuesday, 3/17 will be the official ACT for all juniors across the state.  Our juniors have been working hard to prepare for this high-stake assessment that gets them scholarships and in to many highly sought after colleges and universities. No early dismissal on that day.  A special Chick-Fil-A lunch is being served to all students!
