Academic Enrichment:

Gifted students at CCA are given the opportunity to participate in enrichment programs beyond the general curriculum.

Participation in Model United Nations and Youth in Government are enrichment programs being offered at this time. Both of these programs offer submersion into real life simulations where students explore current issues and situations they must develop solutions for. Instruction and practice in skills of problem analysis, research, communication, critical thinking, and diplomacy are major parts of these programs; skills that are of tremendous value in any career path.

Some gifted students may be able to land a spot on a Destination Imagination team. This is a creative problem solving team competition designed to foster team work and creativity. Spots are given based on previous team participation and/or the first to return signed contracts after the date set for accepting them.

Academic Acceleration:

Academic acceleration is appropriate for some gifted students and is coordinated by the Gifted Services Provider on a student by student basis.

Individual Education Program

Every gifted student at CCA has an Individual Education Program which is reviewed annually by an IEP team consisting of the student, parent, regular education teacher, administrative representative, and the services provider. At this review, needs are assessed and enrichment and acceleration plans are made as needed.
